The Soursop Hostel is located in Sortova, Panama. In the mountains of the Chiriqui Province, the Soursop Hostel is built amongst the true gifts of the world. Vegetables, fruits, herbs, and medicinal plants are just a step or reach away. The Soursop tree(Guanabana tree), orange, lime, papaya, pera, grapefruit, avocado, and many more trees are under the sun and rain consistently enough to produce some of the best fruits known to this world. The Soursop Hostel is located off the Via Volcan road, which is heading to Volcan, Cerro Punta, and Sereno. From the David Bus Terminal: Get on the Cerro Punta bus. After the bus stops travels for about 20 minutes to a town called Bugaba, the bus will stop for 10-15 minutes. Tell the door man that you want to get off at Macadamia. The bus will continue heading up Via Volcan toward the town of Volcan. The door man will call out bus stops the whole time. The bus usually stops at the San Miguel School (on the left), at that point the Macadamia bus stop isn’t too far away. If you see the school, just yell out Macadamia like the locals do. Buses from David Terminal to the Macadamia bus stop is an estimated time of one hour. Once off the bus, carefully cross the street, as the traffic coming from Volcan Baru is fast over the hill. Start to walk down the dirt road but STOP and look at the Pacific Ocean to your left in the distance. Sortova is 375 meters and 1230 feet above sea level. Continue walking/hiking for about 10-15 minutes and the Soursop Hostel is on the right. |
